This is a savory appetizer version of a favorite concoction made with crisp rice cereal.

Time to prepare: 10 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

For 24 bars you will need:

1 cup soft butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups (4 to 5 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Dash cayenne pepper
1 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal

Directions

Cream butter with the cheese. Blend in flour and cayenne pepper. Mix in cereal.

Press into buttered 8-or 9-inch cake pan. Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 min. or until crisp.

Cool Cut into bars. Serve warm or cold.
